Thanksgiving Feast

I had my annual Thanksgiving Feast at school with my friend Mrs. Shine. Snapdragon was a Wamapanoag Indian. We had a great time and we were all full!

Little Bakers

We decided to dust off my cookie cutter collection this morning and make some fall cookies. Buttercup is now a pro at making the icing my mom taught me how to make with powdered sugar, milk, margarine and vanilla. Snapdragon enjoyed rolling and cutting her own creations. Her favorite part was watching the cookies bake in the oven. She kept yelling and signing cookie. Even Mel, the dog, was waiting for the cookies to finish. Buttercup and I saved the decorating for later because we thought Snapdragon might be a little too excited to help. I am still scraping dough off of the chair she was sitting in. Buttercup delivered a few plates full of cookies to share with our neighbors. I am so proud of her because this was her own idea and she reminded me that Thanksgiving was all about sharing.

Santa Claus

Saint Ann's is having their holiday bazaar this weekend. Buttercup and Snapdragon visited with Santa this morning. Snapdragon wasn't too sure, but she did tell Santa she wants a doll. Buttercup of course is an old pro and knows how to get what she wants from Santa!

Haircuts

It was time to take the leap and get Snapdragon's first haircut. One of our friends from church and school cut it at her salon. It looks adorable! I have to admit, I was sad to see the baby hair go. It was time to get rid of the mullet and let it start to grow more evenly. It is a very cute bob. Snapdragon was hesitant so she sat on big sister's lap. She didn't cry. Snapdragon did enjoy her lollipop when the cut was over. Buttercup was about the same age when she had her first haircut. I got out her clipping of baby hair to show her. It is hard to believe that was over nine years ago. Buttercup got a trim after Snapdragon. We are all set for the holidays. We had our family photo taken yesterday before the haircuts. I did it that way on purpose. I was afraid I wouldn't be in love with Snapdragon's hair, but I am!

Referral Anniversary

As I sit here typing, I remember sitting here one year ago to the day shaking with nerves and excitement and crying off and on as I waited for the phone call. The phone call came just before 9:00 am and then shortly after came the first picture of our little Snapdragon. I had taken the day off of work so that I could be home. I had to e-mail the photo to Lou. It almost feels like yesterday and now we have had little Snapdragon in our lives for just over 10 months. Unbelievable! My how she has grown and changed since that first photo! I took a picture of her holding her referral photo. We thank God everyday for our beautiful daughters!

My Friend George

It is the morning after Halloween and we had a spooktacular time! Buttercup went trick-or-treating with her friend from school. We had several haunted houses in our neighborhood and they had a great time. Snapdragon went to visit a friend with me and then I took her to the church festival before going home to trick-or-treat with dad. She got the hang of getting her treats very quickly! Her favorite part of the evening was passing out candy to all of the trick-or-treaters who came to our house!

These are a few photos I took of her playing with George this morning. George is her favorite stuffed animal at the time. She brings him almost everywhere and is sure to kiss him goodbye if he isn't coming with us. This morning she was feeding him pizza. Buttercup's favorite animal, Shamu, and George were dancing around the living room together.
