Happy Earth Week

Buttercup designed her own stakes to mark her plants.

We need some rain!

We spent this weekend cleaning up the yard just in time to celebrate Earth Week. We have a new garden and a new landscaped area next to the patio. The girls had a great time planting tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, assorted berries and some herbs. I planted Azaleas, Impatients, Roses, Hostas and other assorted bedding plants next to the patio. We installed two rain barrels hoping to harvest some rain for watering. We haven't had rain for two weeks....not that I'm complaining, but we could use some water. It is hard to water after work and school because of our dance schedule and other assorted activities in the evening. Anyway... it looks beautiful and we hope we can harvest some fruits and vegetables this summer!

Easter Blessings

Easter dresses.

Nice look, Buttercup....yes, there are pajama shorts on under the robe.

Little one on a mission.

Crusty Bob the turtle.

A yummy breakfast!

An even better treat!

Max is the best!

We went to Easter Vigil yesterday at St. James in Memphis so that we could relax on this beautiful Easter morning. Snapdragon was full of energy during Mass! Uggh! We woke early to find Easter baskets loaded with goodies and the eggs scattered all over the backyard. The girls enjoyed their egg hunt, even though the backyard was a little swampy in spots due to the rain on Friday night.

The girls also had fun playing outside all day in the beautiful weather. Buttercup went to the lake with her friend and came home with a baby turtle she named "Crusty Bob". He is very cute, but I think he will need to return home tomorrow. We had water gun fights, flew kites and drew with sidewalk chalk.
It was a wonderful Easter weekend. Lou and I began our big endeavors of landscaping. Tomorrow we are working on planting beds in the backyards, installing the new rain barrels and fixing the drainage in the backyard. No more swamp! Buttercup also has to have one more baby tooth pulled tomorrow and the repair man is coming to fix the ice maker. Not to mention the school work I need to tackle. Busy, busy, busy!
