Trick or Treat

Buttercup was a great big sister tonight and took Snapdragon all around the neigborhood trick-or-treating.  I'm so proud of my girls.  I'm glad they have each other!

Holy Rosary Halloween Party

While Buttercup was yet again at a sleepover/pumpkin decorating party, we took Snapdragon to Holy Rosary's Halloween Party.  Snapdragon had her fill of games, candy, friends and fun!  She even won a  Cinderella Barbie as a door prize.

Today I get to take Buttercup shopping for jeans and tonight it's off to my boss's family Halloween party.

Going to the Zoo

We recently made two trips to the Memphis Zoo. Last Saturday, we went to enjoy a beautiful fall day, and last night we went to enjoy Zoo Boo. Of course Buttercup was MIA busy with cheerleading and a slumber party for a friend's birthday.

Snapdragon has many choices for Halloween costumes this year. She chose to be a Memphis Tiger cheerleader last night (yard sale find), emulating her big sis. On Halloween, she says she wants to be an alien(dance costume) or Ariel.

Cheer Competition

Here is the video of Saint Ann's performance at the PAA cheer competition.  They placed 3rd overall!  I'm very proud of their hardwork and dedication.  Buttercup is a base during the stunt routine and is the very front of the triangle during the dance routine.

Pumpkin Patch

All of us, except Buttercup, had the day off of school.  We took Snapdragon to Cedar Hill Farm with Buttercup's blessing.  She said she was fine without a trip to a pumpkin patch this year.  (I miss my little girl!)

We had fun and it was not too hot.  Snapdragon really enjoyed feeding the farm animals, but her favorite thing was playing on the pirate ship.  She had a crew of sailors following her as she barked out the orders.  My favorite was the homemade apple and cinnamon donuts. Yum! I think Lou's favorite was playing with a bunch of children on the big tire swing!  Snapdragon picked out a perfect carving pumpkin for us with a nice long stem.

On a side note, Buttercup is excited because she tried out for her school's production of Mulan.  She will be a bride and a dancer.  She will have a tap solo worked into the production.

Homecoming and Little Dancers

Buttercup's school had their homecoming game today.  The moms escorted the eighth grade football players on the field and the dads escorted the eighth grade cheerleaders.  I can't believe my baby will be in high school next year!

Here is a quick snapshot I took of some of my little dancers enrolled in the Holy Rosary Dance Academy.  Too sweet!  Recognize the little ballerina in hot pink?  I love my dance room with a mirrored wall and a portable floor.  My portable ballet bars are here and I can't wait to start using them next week.

Painting her perfect pumpkins~

We had fun today with Snapdragon.  After our weekly Saturday morning cleaning, we walked to the lake to catch a few fish.  Then we drove to Jones Orchard (only a 10 minute drive) to gather some pumpkins, a hay bale and some cornstalks for our annual fall decorating.

Both Lou and I agreed that we are very blessed to have "little bit" to spend time with, because we are both a little sad that our Buttercup isn't around so much anymore. We are glad that she is enjoying time with her friends.  Last night she was off at the high school football game.  Today she went to open gym to practice her tumbling and shopping with a friend.  Tonight she is off to a dance.  I guess we will get to enjoy the tired, grumpy teenager tomorrow when she works on her science project in between cheering at the football game.
