Mountain View

We just returned from a relaxing trip to Mountain View, AR.  We stayed in a beautiful cabin by the creek.  One of the highlights of the trip was touring Brighton Springs Caverns.  They were gorgeous.  I loved watching the girls play in the creek together and play hide and seek all over the property by the cabin. I love how they are so close even though there is such an age gap. We saw several deer Sunday morning before we left.  I even read a whole book on top of the grading and report cards I had to finish while on the trip!

Busy Weekends!

We wanted to go camping this weekend, but rain put a hitch in that. Instead, Buttercup went to a party with friends (life of a teenager-notice her absence in most pictures nowadays) and we took the munchkin to Disney Princesses on Ice. Afterwards, we had dinner for the first time at The Spaghetti Warehouse...a very cool restaraunt! Of course, we squeezed in two soccer games and my usual amount of 5 hours of weekend school/dance/Daisies work! I don't know what I would do without my wonderful hubby who continually helps with household chores. I am blessed to be married to a man that shares all of these duties in a 50/50 way!

On Saturday, Sept. 15 we lost our dear Mel. Thank you, Melbourne, for sharing 13 wonderful years with us! We will miss you and you will be in our hearts forever.

Back to School

I have to say I have enjoyed having this week home to myself.  The girls are busy with gymnastics camp and driver's ed and Lou is at work.  I have had time to get so much done after another whirlwind school year and starting this summer off with two weeks of dance camp.

I have cleaned everything out, (I do mean everything), cleaned the house from top to bottom, detailed my van, and organized all of my photos and random collections through the year in hopes to start scrapbooking, again.

 I think the biggest accomplishement I have had is realizing just how blessed I am!  After digging through photos in hopes of finding my honeymoon pictures (still not found),  I had time to reflect on the twenty years of marriage Lou and I will celebrate next week.  If you want a real jolt into reality spend a few hours of the course of two days sorting through over twenty years of photos! It just amazes me how much we have done and how much we have been blessed with!  Who knew twenty years ago that we would go from a small one bedroom apartment in Cincninnati where our family of three began, to the a beautiful quaint house in the California desert where a journey around the world made us a family of four.  Now, in a gorgeous home in a quiet suburb of Tennessee with our two beautiful, healthy daughters so we can be close to our family in Cincinnati.  Through all this time and travel we have always been blessed with so many wonderful friends and secure jobs to provide for our family.  Sure, we have had a few rough spots, but they pale in comparison to the joys.

To all of those who have been a part of our lives we want to say thank you for sharing in our journey. We know that the Lord has so much more in store for us as we continue on.  We will never lose sight of what is important, and take time to slow down and enjoy what we have been given.  We thank God for all that He has blessed us with, especially each other!

I could't resist sharing the two photos I came across below.  I am so proud of my little monkey for working so hard in kindergarten this year.  I love this photo because it shows her true nature and spunky personality.  She loves to hang out with boys!  I am also very proud of my Buttercup for working so hard during her freshman year.  She accomplished so much from making the lacrosse team and ending the year on the Dean's List with the honor of Magna Cum Laude!

Thank you, God, for giving me the gift of motherhood! How blessed I am to be the mother of two beautiful girls and to share them with a wonderful, loving husband. It was a beautiful day today! I had time to relax outside in my Mother's Day gift...a reclining chair...and time to enjoy playing with my little one. I even had time to take the oldest on a beauty shopping spree at Target when she took a break from her homework. Later, we will watch a movie together when little bit goes to bed. Time to go relax some more!
