Halloween Preview

We snapped a few photos of Snapdragon trying on her costume last night to make sure it still fit. We tried it on a month ago. This was Buttercup's first Halloween costume. She wore it when she was 9 mos. old. Snapdragon is 20 mos. old. It fit both of them pefectly. I will have to try to post a photo of Buttercup in it. My two Pooh Bears! Buttercup is going to be a rock star!

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at Murray Family Farm today. Buttercup and Snapdragon enjoyed exploring in the hay maze and choosing their own pumpkins. I think they had the most fun playing in the corn kernel pool! We came home with a van full of pumpkins and two tired and dirty children. We met another family who adopted a little one from China while we were in the petting zoo. She was from Guangdong province, also! They brought her home in May. It sure is a small world!

First Gymkhana

Today was the first Gymkhana of the season. Buttercup and Odyssey did a fantastic job. They placed second in Poles, third in Birangle, fourth in Hurry Scurry and fifth in Barrels. Snapdragon enjoyed watching and even had fun sitting on Odyssey.

Ostriches

Snapdragon's preschool class went to an Ostrich Ranch in Tehachapi today. She had fun playing with the eggs (hollow of course), but didn't want to pet the baby ostrich.

Apple and Raspberry Picking

We made our annual treck to Tehachapi today to pick apples and raspberries. We were very excited to share this family tradition with Snapdragon for the first time. She loved riding in the wagon and collecting apples in her basket. She also enjoyed mine and Buttercup's favorite part, eating raspberries right from the vine! There is nothing better! It was a great family day.

9 Months Ago!

We became a family of four 9 months ago yesterday. In some ways it feels like yesterday, and in some ways it feels like Snapdragon has always been with us. We are so proud of both of our beautiful daughters. Buttercup is so sweet with her baby sister and Snapdragon just adores her. We can't believe how well adjusted Snapdragon has become. She is funny, lovable and stubborn! She knows what she wants! She is talking constantly now and repeating everything we say. Everytime we light the candle on the dinner table she sings "Happy Birthday" and wiggles her little bottom. Yesterday, she even said "sghetti" when we were eating spaghetti for dinner. We are blessed to have the gift of our daughters!
