Pumpkin Patch

All of us, except Buttercup, had the day off of school.  We took Snapdragon to Cedar Hill Farm with Buttercup's blessing.  She said she was fine without a trip to a pumpkin patch this year.  (I miss my little girl!)

We had fun and it was not too hot.  Snapdragon really enjoyed feeding the farm animals, but her favorite thing was playing on the pirate ship.  She had a crew of sailors following her as she barked out the orders.  My favorite was the homemade apple and cinnamon donuts. Yum! I think Lou's favorite was playing with a bunch of children on the big tire swing!  Snapdragon picked out a perfect carving pumpkin for us with a nice long stem.

On a side note, Buttercup is excited because she tried out for her school's production of Mulan.  She will be a bride and a dancer.  She will have a tap solo worked into the production.

Homecoming and Little Dancers

Buttercup's school had their homecoming game today.  The moms escorted the eighth grade football players on the field and the dads escorted the eighth grade cheerleaders.  I can't believe my baby will be in high school next year! 

Here is a quick snapshot I took of some of my little dancers enrolled in the Holy Rosary Dance Academy.  Too sweet!  Recognize the little ballerina in hot pink?  I love my dance room with a mirrored wall and a portable floor.  My portable ballet bars are here and I can't wait to start using them next week.

We had fun today with Snapdragon.  After our weekly Saturday morning cleaning, we walked to the lake to catch a few fish.  Then we drove to Jones Orchard (only a 10 minute drive) to gather some pumpkins, a hay bale and some cornstalks for our annual fall decorating.

Both Lou and I agreed that we are very blessed to have "little bit" to spend time with, because we are both a little sad that our Buttercup isn't around so much anymore. We are glad that she is enjoying time with her friends.  Last night she was off at the high school football game.  Today she went to open gym to practice her tumbling and shopping with a friend.  Tonight she is off to a dance.  I guess we will get to enjoy the tired, grumpy teenager tomorrow when she works on her science project in between cheering at the football game.

Long Time No Post

What can I say?  We have been busy, busy, busy!!!  The girls are in the school routine and loving it.  Buttercup is busy with cheerleading and all of the fun social activities that eighth grade holds such as dances, sleepovers, and football games.  Snapdragon is enrolled at my new dance academy... Holy Rosary Dance Academy...and will be starting karate lessons at Holy Rosary soon.

 Yes, I have been blessed to be able to start my own dance academy at Holy Rosary.  I have a wonderful room with a full wall of mirrors and I have 50 students ranging from age 3 to 11 enrolled.  I teach two days a week after school.  I am having a blast and I have some incredible little dancers!

The pictures show our annual Autumn Moon Festival celebration and random shots of Buttercup cheerleading.  This year we made full moon cookies with a jade rabbit on each.  The girls also had their annual glow stick hunt and sent their wishes to the moon via helium balloon. 

In the Swing of Things!

We are all getting adjusted to our school schedule after one and a half weeks back!  Buttercup is enjoying her 8th grade year so far.  She has already been to two dances and there is another one next weekend!  We had a house full of girls Friday night and went to the opening football jamboree on Saturday. The cheers looked great!

Snapdragon is loving 4k!  She really enjoys visiting the centers each day.  I am beginning an afterschool dance program at Holy Rosary and so far the response has been great!  Our rectial will be May 5!  It's going to be a great year!

Back to School

We all had a wonderful first day!  Buttercup is ruling her school as an 8th grader this year and Snapdragon is in 4K at Holy Rosary.  I am still teaching 5th grade at Holy Rosary.  Wishing everyone a happy new school year!

All-American Cheerleader

Congratulations to Buttercup who was selected with two other friends from her squad as National University Cheer Association's All Americans!  We couldn't be prouder!
