Life's a Beach!

The girls love the sand and surf! We are enjoying our days at the beach and evenings in the pool or going crab hunting.  We all enjoyed a seafood feast the other night and last night we went to Hard Rock Cafe.  The dolphin cruise was exciting!  We saw quite a few dolphins.  The pictures say more than my words could!  We are getting ready to spend our last day at the beach and pool.  Homeward bound tomorrow!

Happy Father's Day!

We are all enjoying Lou's Father's Day present...the beach!  We are having a blast on our first full day in Miramar, Fl.  Buttercup couldn't get enough of the ocean and Snapdragon couldn't get enough of the beach!  This is our first family vacation as a family of four!

Choo, Choo Cha Boogie..Let's Ride the Crazy Train

Snapdragon danced in her second recital and Buttercup danced in her tenth!  They are both beautiful girls and beautiful dancers.  Both girls were more confident in their stage presence this year.  In fact, bet you wouldn't guess it, but Snapdragon can't get enough of the stage and the spotlight. (I hope you can sense the sarcasim in that statement.)  Buttercup is really lighting up the stage with her smile and strong dancing.  I love that she LOVES to tap dance!
This year Snapdragon was a martian in "Matian Hop"with a few cartwheel solos and a little engine that could in "Choo, Choo Boogie".  Buttercup perfomed an amazing tap solo to "Forget You" and a tap duet with her good friend to "The Time".  Buttercup also performed a jazz duet with her friend to "Crazy Train".  I enjoyed teaching Buttercup's class this year.  Can't wait to see what next year holds!

Summer Fun!

Just had to share how the girls are enjoying their summer together so far.  Buttercup has had to do some babysitting and the contracts are something she created in my absence.  I think we might have a lawyer on our hands.  Who knew? (If you want to read them, click on the picture to enlarge it.)
Meanwhile, I am frantically getting ready for the dance recital and preparing for Florida. I am attending a two day workshop next week so I need to start getting organized now.  Can't wait to hit the beach!

It's official, Snapdragon is now a 4K student at Holy Rosary!  She had her moving up ceremony and program on Wednesday.  Buttercup is officially an 8th Grader!  We are very proud of her!  She made Honor Roll all four grading periods! She will graduate from elemenatry school next spring and make her Confirmation. Exciting times ahead! I took her out to celebrate the end of 7th grade last night.  We went to see Pirates of the Carribean and ate at TGIF.

 We also have a fun summer ahead beginning with Holy Rosary's Italian Festival, the dance recital, our trip to Florida, and our visit to Cincinnati!

Happy Mother's Day!

Fun, fun, fun!

It's been a busy day, but I guess it was by choice. I was able to relax a little this morning with my yummy breakfast of biscuits and gravy in bed. I watched a movie on Oxygen and then it was up to wash the van, weed the gardens, groom the dogs and pack lunches for school tomorrow...among other various Sunday chores. Lou mowed the lawna and is now lighting the grill for our yummy dinner!

Lou surprised me with a beautiful statue of Mary for my garden. I have wanted one since we made the garden last year. I bought a cheap ten dollar one at Big Lots, but it was already looking worse for the wear. Snapdragon painted an adorable flower pot for me at school and Buttercup gave me a pretty flower clip for my hair and some new nailpolish.

Snapdragon enjoyed playing in her water table. It was 86 degrees today and it didn't rain! Poor Buttercup has spent most of the day completing homework. Hopefully, this is the last project she'll have this school year! I think we are all finished and need a break!

Anyway, love my girls and my hubby! The joys of motherhood far out-weigh the stresses...even though today was full of some of the stresses.
