At The Library

Buttercup read to Snapdragon at our visit to the library today. Buttercup really enjoys being the big sister. It is wonderful watching her spend time with her baby sis!

Mama's New Van

Here it is, for all of you back home. My new van after almost 11 years with the old Windstar we bought a Honda Odyssey two weeks ago and we love it!

Taking a Break

We went to Kernville today for a picnic and a hike. The girls had a great time playing in the Kern River. I took these two photos just before I dropped my camera in the river. The SD card is still good, but the camera is not so good! Oh well, we had a great time anyway.

First Day of School

It is hard to believe, but school started today. I have taken her picture in front of our tree each year since kindergarten. My she has grown up! Buttercup thinks she is going to have a great year in the fifth grade. Snapdragon enjoyed eating her breakfast at her new big girl seat at the table. We all had a great day!

Watching the Olympics

We all enjoyed watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Buttercup and Snapdragon are watching Michael Phelps go for the gold! We are all enjoying our last days of summer as we prepare for school to begin again.

Summertime Fun in Cincinnati

We are having a wonderful time with family friends this summer in Cincinnati. It's hard to believe we only have one week left! It has been a whirlwind of fun! Snapdragon has been warmly welcomed by her new extended family and Buttercup always just seems to pick up where she left off with family and friends. Buttercup completed a week long basketball camp at Mount Saint Joseph College and a craft class at a local park. We have made several visits to the Cincinnati Zoo and the The Cincinnati Museum Center. Buttercup even won two tickets to see the new American Girl movie, Kit Kitteridge, at a preview screening in the museum. She took Grandma Inskeep as her special guest. The story of the movie is set in Cincinnati during the depression. We made a trip to Coney Island and Sunlite Pool. Of course, no trip would be complete without going to a Reds game (even if they aren't doing very well this year). Snapdragon has adjusted very well. She is warming up to everyone, but won't let anyone but Buttercup or I hold her. She adjusted to the three hour time change, but sleeping has had its ups and downs.
